Levendis Duo, one half of  Ensemble Duchamp is a unique partnership that renders moot historical and genre-based stereotypes concerning instrumental music.

Lenny Young and  Joshua Yohe formed the Levendis Duo in order to examine a small group  dynamic and develop composed as well as improvised material, and they show the similarities between both styles of playing by combining the two in concert.  In addition to performing their own original compositions, they often juxtapose composed works by past masters (Bach, Schumann, Stravinisky, Messiaen, Stockhausen, Ellington, Rodgers) with free improvisation.
