Camel Caravan

Ancestral Homeland
   Pyramid Trio
Roy Campbell (trumpet, fluegelhorn, flutes, percussion)
   William Parker (bass, percussion)
   Zen Matsuura (drums, percussion)

This is the second cd by Campbell's Pyramid Trio and is a festive celebration both musically and historically.   This trio began in 1984 and over the years has seen many wonderful players like Reggie Nicholson, Susie Ibarra, Reuben Rading, and Wilber Morris.  Over the years, the music has developed and followed a natural course of evolution.

As Steve Dalachinsky writes in the liners, "this music hits you like the wind   you catch it in your had like a leaf...you swim in it like the sand...you dwell in it like the clouds...you chew on it like a stone...you swallow it like the sun...you digest it like the stars....you grasp it like........and that's when it all begins."

Comes with our highest recommendation.
