Arrears
   Georg Graewe (piano)

Frank Gratkowski (alto saxophone, clarinet, bass and contrabass clarinet)

John Lindberg (bass)

Gratkowski refers to the music on this cd as "instantly composed chamber music."  Indeed, it does have the quiet, intimate qualities of chamber music, but the sensibilities run much deeper here than that of the normal chamber music fare.

Georg and John had not played together for 15 years (formerly in Graewe's Grubenklang Orchestra in 1985/86) until this recording but their immediate rapport belies this fact...they match perfectly from the first moment on this cd.  The trio's music making on this disc is nothing short of passionate musical introspection.

Comes with our highest recommendation.
