Contemplations Adam Rudolph, Hamid Drake, Ralph Jones, Fredrico Ramos, and Oguri Contemplations brings together a quintet of longtime collaborators who are very much at peace performing together. As one would expect from this lineup, the emphasis here is on rhythm, but to only think of this Cd in those terms would be a great loss. This project is a wonderful vision of Adam's cross-cultural improvisation performing aesthetic..."an audio syncretic musical fabric." The music here is shaped by Rudolph's philosophical perspective in which the cosmology of the various cultures is applied toward the music making process. "They successfully meld influences from across the globe through cogent, vibrant performances." --- Down Beat Magazine (four stars) 14 tracks in 63+ minutes. ::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, you might also enjoy listening to: 12 Arrows, (Rudolph, Drake, Jones, Oguri) Ask the Sun (Drake and Zerang) |
