The culmination of 30 years of Grave's musical explorations, the recording is a tribute to Grave's wife, watercolor artist Susan Adams based on texts by Pablo Neruda.  The recording also features a Grave's composition, Global Village, commissioned by the Kronos String Quartet and performed here by ETHEL.

Considering Graves has worked with everyone from the Kronos String Quartet to Dewey Redman, it is not unexpected to find many disparite influences in Graves music.  What is unexpected though is the easy way that he integrates the influences in music that moves in such graceful ways.
