Big Black - Ethnic Fusion
   Big Black (tumbas and bongos)
   Anthony Wheaton (guitar)

This re-release of the 1982 LP from 1750 Arch Records is a fresh breeze in the somewhat over-simplified and commercialized world of ethnic hints and glances, which in many cases has proven to falsify and down-grade the musical roots on which they draw.

Recorded back when there was no such thing as "world music" Big Black and Anthony Wheaton were already combining Spanish, Caribbean, Brazilian, jazz, and classical musics.  The beauty of this recording is in its raw simplicity and grace.  There are no pretentious here, just in-your-face honesty....now how's that for something a little different.

Comes highly recommended.
