Nipples
Crew's Choice
Selection The Peter Brötzmann Sextet/Quartet Simply put, Nipples is one of the rarest and most influential European energy jazz recordings of all time. The incendiary sextet lineup features an international cast of musical greats: leader Peter Brötzmann on tenor saxophone, Buschi Niebergall on bass, Evan Parker on tenor saxophone, Derek Bailey on guitar, Han Bennink on drums, and Fred Van Hove on piano. The quartet recordings (sans Bailey and Parker) also remain an intensely creative watershed of conventionally configured jazz lineups 30 years later. Virtually everything about Nipples is simply the stuff of legend. Beyond the remarkably stunning lineups, half the recordings were laid down at none other than Conny Plank's studio which was the premiere launching site for the greatest Krautrock recordings of all time, while the balance were done at Manfred Eicher's Ludwigsburg facility. Truly a collector's holy grail and an absolute must for any jazz fanatic. :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimalala If you like this cd, you might also enjoy listening to: Unlawful Noise (Haazz & Company) The Living Music (Alexander von Schlippenbach Septet) For Adolphe Sax, (Brötzmann, Kowald, Johansson, Van Hove) Balls (Brötzmann, Bennink, Van Hove) Hunting the Snake (Schlippenbach, Parker, Kowald, Lovens) The Milwaukee Tapes (Fred Anderson Quartet) Willie the Pig (Tchicai, Schweizer, Niebergall, Ntshoko) |
