The Nu Band Take four free jazz veterans on a cold snowy night in Rochester at the Bop Shop and only magic can happen and indeed it does on this recording. The first recording by this co-op ensemble, hopefully not the last, that just flat out hums like a slant six. There is no turning back once you start on this one. Comes with our highest recommendation. 4 tracks in 52:34 minutes If you missed this cd, you might enjoy listening to: Live At The Glenn Miller Cafe (Moondoc, Parker, Drake) Jumping Off The Page (Campbell, Brown, Lightcap, Krall) Fugues and Flowers (Gold Sparkle Band) The Ilya Tree (Flayerty, Kelley, Voigt, Cook) From Valley to Valley (Die Like A Doq Quartet with Roy Campbell) |
