More on
Joel Futterman

Ike Levin is a Chicago rooted tenor saxophonist who now resides in the San Francisco Bay area. He studied with legendary reed player Joe Daley and Fred Anderson co-founder of the Chicago based Association for The Advancement of Creative Music (AACM). Levin has performed with such noted jazz artists as Von Freeman, Wilbur Campbell, Gene Ammons, Ira Sullivan, Yancy Taylor, and Robert Porter. His diverse musical influences range from John Coltrane and Theolonious Monk to Bela Bartok and Pierre Boulez.

Another Drimala exclusive...the follow-on release to Futterman and Levin's InterView release.  This series of innovative music dialogues between the artists takes the listener on a spirited emotional journey characterized by spiraling heights of intense passion and meditative depths of introspections.  Comes highly recommended.

More From The Rack

"Only one word can describe this CD -- (phroggin') HOT!   These 2 have a level of communication down that most players can only dream about.   Those listeners who especially dig improvised musics that aren't the same notes over and over will dig th' creativity of this duo." -- Dick Metcalf, Zzaj Productions
