ARC 01::: EL From another of Chicago's new generation of free jazz/post rock/improv players (by way of Braxton and Mills College), this disc is Scott Rosenberg's most developed date as a leader so far...to our ears anyway. Blurring the line between jazz (or open improvisation) and chamber music, the Skronktet varies the music's density and color from bar to bar with ease. The music is demanding and aggressive, without being burdensome. Anyone interested in how creative music is developing will want to pay careful attention to this disc. Comes highly recommended. 7 tracks in 50:18 minutes. :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, you might also enjoy listening to: Guerilla Mosaics (Butcher, Robair, Massaoka) Pomegranate (Liebig, Cline, Varner, Dresser, Golia) Buddy Systems (Gino Robair) Signs of Life (Wright, Ingalls, Rainey, DJll) Forward Energy (Jim Ryan and Configurations 2002) The Left Coast Improv Group (TLCIG) |
