Horizontals White
  Chris Burn (piano, percussion)
John Butcher (soprano and tenor saxophones)
   Mark Wastell (cello)
   Rhodri Davies (harp)
   John Russell (guitar)
   Matt Hutchinson (electronics)

The Chris Burn Ensemble was formed in the late 1980s and has been working ever since in various incarnations.  The group on this recording features the Ensemble in their 2001 line-up.  Unlike the music of the Ensemble's earlier recordings, this cd is fully improvised with the musicians reaching for the full potential of their instruments in a collective improvisational setting...the result being a much larger more dense sound than one would imagine by only  six people.
