The
Missing Link Recorded in 1979, this is one of the best examples of all the things that have made Anderson the player he is today. Over 20 years ago, his lines are about strength, but they are also about subtlety. Probably the best way to describe this music is that it may be the missing link between the pantonality of Ornette Coleman and the furious atonality of the AACM. Dark, lyrical, and majestic. Timeless, indeed. This recording comes with our highest recommendation. 4 tracks in 62:44 minutes If you missed this cd, you might enjoy listening to: The Milwaukee Tapes (Anderson, Brimfield, Hayrod, Drake) Dark Day (Fred Anderson Quartet) 2 Days In April (Fred Anderson - Kidd Jordan) Live At the Velvet Lounge (Anderson, Drake, Kowald) Underground Railroad (Joe McPhee Quartet) |
