Fred Anderson/DKV Trio
   Fred Anderson (tenor saxophone)
   Ken Vandermark (reeds)
   Hamid Drake (drums)
   Kent Kessler (bass)

This recording is so much about Anderson's life in Chicago and his mission at the Velvet Lounge... constantly encouraging the next generation of musicians.  Anderson pushes Vandermark on this recording, but the push is a good one because both move to a higher plane in the process.  The rhythms are strong and the phrasing exquisite.
