Live In Wels & Chicago, 1998 This special-priced double cd was recorded during November 1998 at the Wels, Music Unlimited 98, and Fred Anderson's Velvet Lounge. Documenting the finest working trio in Chicago in the top 5 in this country, this recording explores the full range of DKV's extensive repertoire. Disk 1 is a wonderful tribute to Don Cherry working off of his Communion Suite. Disk 2 fetaures three extended solid DKV improvs that absolutely burn. Disk 1: 6 tracks in 43:55 minutes If you missed this cd, you might enjoy listening to: Straight Lines (Joe Harriott tribute) Double or Nothing (AALY & DKV Trios) Version Soul (Vandermark, Drake, McBride) Trigonometry (DKV Trio) Exploding Customer (Küchen, Nordeson, Hallonsten, Quigley) Kollapse (Gratkowski, Wierbos, Manderscheid, and Hemingway) Spaceways Incorporated, (Sun Ra tribute) |
