Theater Posters Andrew Drury developed a reputation as a highly innovative drummer and composer in that Northwest hotbed of creative improvised music before relocating to NYC. This recording finds his compositional talents for large ensemble at their zenith. The music continuously twists and turns between the strings and horns always anchored by Drury's very tight rhythms. His duets with Krauss are worth the price of entrance here. And watch for Flory, his debut outing here is not to be missed. "This disc is at once brash and complex, filled with rattling stops and starts, blasts of noise, and sweet lyrical passages which create a sort of hyperactive carnival aesthetic by the record's end." -- Trey Hatch 10 tracks in 60:08 minutes :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, we think you might also enjoy: Hollow World (Assif Tsahar's big band) Spirit House (Moondoc's Jus Grew Orchestra) Stone Water (Peter Brötzmann's Chicago Tentet) No Stars Please (Trummerflora) Unlawful Noise (Haazz & Company) Cosmosamatics (Simmons, Marcus, Parker, Rosen) Transatlantic Bridge (Vandermark's Chicago Nonet) |
