Hollow
World Assif Tsahar (tenor saxophone) Susie Ibarra (drums, percussion) Chris Jonas (soprano saxophone) Joe Daley (tuba) Rob Brown (alto saxophone) Cuong Vu (trumpets) Herb Robertson (trumpets) The Hollow World features Assif Tsahar in the company of some of New York City's finest brass and reed players. Try Herb Robertson and Cuong Vu on trumpets, Vincent Chancey on french horn, Joe Daley on tuba, Chris Jonas on soprano sax, Rob Brown on alto sax, Assif on tenor sax, and all driven by impeccable rhythms of Sussie Ibarra, and you begin to grasp the ambitious undertaking of this CD. Sadly in today's economy, large scale creative projects of this magnitude come along all too infrequently. This CD gives us all hope though. Features five tracks in 60+ minutes of wonderful compositions written specifically for this ensemble and their unique sound.
