The String Army Pavones string music layers textured sound into landscapes, often utilizing techniques unique to string instruments. Pavone writes: I deliberately chose the elements with respect to the change they undergo...change, something essential to life, will sometimes completely restructure the elements and other times bring them back full circle. The three tracks each shed a different light on Pavones singular approach to music. Her music is like a revelation in slow motion: it begins with a sound world that is instantaneously striking, but which only reveals its full potential in an irreversible development that makes up the life-span of a piece. "The music is gripping, startling, and astoundingly provocative. Although the music could be intimidating to unexpected ears, its overly serious tenor, inventive improvisations, and excellent execution combine and make it an enticing symphony of new music. The entire recording is intoxicating and will stir the emotions of listeners seeking innovation in their music diet" -- Frank Rubolino, Cadence "Individual personalities, though, are subsumed by Pavone's powerful writing, which exhibits considerable potential. Hard to categorize and often difficult to absorb, Pavone nonetheless has planted the seeds for some unusually innovative and demanding works that require concentrated listening." -- Steven Loewy, AMG 3 tracks in 39:48 minutes :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala You might also enjoy listening to: ALOGOS (music of Bradshaw Pack) Electro-Magnetic Trans-Personal Orchestra Sonic Conspiracy (The Abstractions) The Labyrinth (Assif Tsahar and the New York Underground Orchestra) 1-8 In 1 (The Focus Quintet) Hill Music (The Emergency String Quartet) 4+1 (Ole Hoffmann and TonArt String Quartet) |
