The
Laughing Owl The Laughing Owl presents the proceedings of a heady musical summit: seventeen sublime, challenging duets from THE EX'S guitarist, Terrie Ex and Dutch free-jazz legend Han Bennink. THE EX's credentials as a musical entity and as human beings are simply unimpeachable. This stalwart experimental rock collective have been fearlessly doing things their own way for nearly 20 years, issuing relentless albumsand touring the earth, reknown both for their integrity and intensity. Han Bennink may very well be the most accomplished, vesatile and charismatic percussionist to emerge from the temperate hotbed of '60's Euro free jazz, having anchored groups Han Bennink featuring Peter Brötzmann, Misha Megelberg, Derek Bailey, Leo Cuypers, Don Cherry, John Tchicai, Paul Bley, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Cecil Taylor, Lee Konitz as well as countless other noteworthy projects under the hallowed auspices of Amsterdam's ICP (Instant Composer's Pool). It's truly difficult to imagine such classics as NIPPLES or MACHINE GUN existing without his enormous talent and prescence. The Laughing Owl is a simply must for fans of THE EX, Euro-axis free jazz and hi-test improvised musics! 17 tracks in 46:35 minutes More from Atavistic :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, you might also enjoy listening to: Nerve Beats (Han Bennink) Fryed Fruit (Brötzmann, Yudanov, Luoma) Crashing The Russian Renaissance (Diaz-Infante, Lx Rudis, André Custodio) The Grass Is Greener (Bennink, Parker) Interzone (Nels and Alex Cline) Au Ni Kita (Misčre et Cordes) Wires and Wooden Boxes (Diaz-Infante and Chris Forsyth) |
